Athleisure for every occasion

This post is sponsored by Target
January is a month of cold weather and the post-holiday lull. All we want is to get in sweatpants and a cozy robe, and sit on a couch watching our favorite show and relaxing. But with going back to work and our new year's routine changes, it's key to balance our comfort and style with easy, versatile pieces for every occasion.
Luckily, Target has got us covered again. Target's athleisure collection includes a range of items, from patterned leggings to leisure dresses to sweaters. They are all super comfy, but, most importantly, they're super versatile and stylish. I created three different looks with pieces from the collection for different occasions.
The first look is a perfectly comfy sweat suit from Target, which I accessorized with high-heeled booties and a leather bag for a touch of glam in an otherwise casual ensemble. It's the perfect look for a weekend brunch with friends.

Target Loves Everybody

This post is promoted by Target
When Target asked me to discuss this topic, I immediately jumped on board since it's an ongoing battle for me and, I am sure, many other women. We are talking about confidence during swim season. Target is on a quest to encourage confidence and excitement this summer by celebrating every body type with a variety of swimsuits in styles, sizes and shapes that fit everyone.
Let's talk real. We all have our insecurities when it comes to a beach body. The first time I approached this topic on the blog was two years ago (read here), but not much has changed since then. Except for the fact that I learned that the right fit of swimsuit is the key determinant of your confidence on the beach. I usually spend days looking for a perfect swimsuit and try countless options (whether it's shopping online or in store). My body is pear-shaped (no matter how much I hate it, so I might as well start loving it :) ) and therefore picking the right swimsuit that accentuates my advantages and hides my flaws is extremely important. After trying countless swimsuit options at my local Target, I found this one - it highlights my body's natural curves and, most importantly, hides the widest part of the body with a little mini skirt, making it appear more proportional. I love the retro theme of the swimsuit - it's definitely one of my favorites.
But now that I have invested so much time and money finding the right swimsuit, I don't need to limit myself to the beach any more. There are countless layering options incorporating my swimsuit into a variety of summer looks. I can style it with pants and skirts, and even throw a blazer on top of it for a professional office look. But my favorite look so far is the one below. It is a perfect one for a classy weekend shopping stroll, a nice mid-summer brunch or a romantic July date. The swimsuit therefore is a centerpiece for any occasion ;)
Love your bodies, stay confident and have fun this swim season with Target ;)

Get Ready for the Beach with Me

The weather is slowly changing and I am getting excited about swimsuit season. Target has asked me to share my beach must-haves this season and I got stuck at my local store for a few hours. They have so many different swimsuit styles that I wanted to try them all on, and it took me a while to choose the best two. They are all seriously amazing, and most importantly, affordable! So without further ado, here are my beach must haves in 2015:
1) swimsuit (better to have two in case you need a dry one immediately)
2) a big hat to cover protect your face from evil sun exposure
3) body lotion and face SPF (for the same reason as point 2)
4) a good book to pass your time in case you don't find someone interesting to watch
5) headphones (to listen to some music or pretend that you do ;))
6) lipstick, hairclip and sunglasses for immediate restyling tricks
and voila... that's it. Easy packing list with most of the items available at Target.

Winning in Winter White

Winter is in full swing (in some places :P) and this post is yet another way to prove that we don't have to wait for summer to experiment with fashion and especially with white colors. My latest collaboration with Target is all about wearing white in winter. Here are three ways to wear white-on-white for a fashionable winter outing: a soft and comfy white sweater from Target with high heel winter boots, with the leather jacket for a cold evening and with white converse for a casual fun all-white look.

Work it Out, TargetStyle

We have all been in situations where we have to put together a last minute look. Whether you are going to an event straight from work or your outfit got ruined on your way there, there is always that moment full of pressure and disappointment. Target asked me to show you that it doesn't have to be that way. It's actually quite the opposite - it's fun and creative! :) I stopped by my local Target and was able to put together this chic and classy look in as little as 10 minutes! And some of the items were not only discounted but on clearance! I literally got a whole new look well under $100! I am guessing you already can't wait for that "stressful" situation to happen - another excuse to go shopping on a budget :)

6 Month Salvation

Target found out that only 20% of their guests' clothes gets worn, which means 80% is left unexplored! I was challenged to find an item that I haven't worn in the past 6 months and style it in 3 different ways to remind myself how cool it actually is and how much I once loved it. I had so much fun styling these creative looks with my old black and white pattern skirt that I think I'll definitely wear more often from now on. Obviously Target items helped me in my styling process, which means that you can easily create new fun looks without spending a fortune (or anything!) Hope you are having a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Inspiration is Everywhere

Here is another cool idea from Target. Target believes (and I second it!) that inspiration in style can come from anywhere, whether it's a piece of art, a mural in your city, a song on the radio or simply any object around you! To prove this, Target challenged me to find any item in their store and get inspired by it in my style and boy, I went wild =) Everywhere I looked I could come up with at least a few different looks, but as soon as I saw these headphones, I immediately remembered my favorite color combination (orange+black+white) and thought that it was time to utilize it again! Came up with this preppy and playful look with elements of male fashion (hello ties!) all styled mostly with Target items - meaning, you don't have to break a bank to look stylish and original! ;)

Blogger Style Session

Here is another fun project from Target. This time Target paired me up with the lovely Ashley from Life, Love and the Pursuit of Shoes for a little styling session. We were supposed to dress each other according to our styles. You can check out how I styled her here.
So Ashley and I had a little chat about my recent obsession for all-black looks and thigh-high boots. We both are very excited to finally be able to rock fall fashion and this is the look that we came up with for me: total black outfit with a pretty skater skirt and a chic sheer blouse with a white bow. And of course.....my new thigh high boots. I still can't believe they are only $70! Such a steal!

Flaunt It Friday

Target challenged me to post about the feature I am flaunting at the moment and it was actually harder than I thought. I am sure lots of you ladies can relate with me. If someone asks me what body part I am insecure about I will give them a long list of what-s and why-s, but when asked what part I actually like I got a little stuck... I started thinking what part of my body gives me the greatest confidence boost and allows me to wear daring outfits with confidence and I came up with a conclusion that it's my face! When I sleep well and have clear skin, I feel my best and tend to choose more interesting looks than when I am tired and don't want to attract much attention :) So to work what I've got I try to sleep well, stick to a healthy lifestyle (even though it's not a 100% commitment yet :) ) and most importantly, take care of my skin. I obviously do regular facials, but using the right products is crucial. My current favorite is Laneige Water Bank Serum which is lightweight yet very hydrating. I don't even need moisturizer after it. This product helped me stay "picture ready" throughout the whole New York Fashion Week! And what about you? What body part are you flaunting at the moment?

Skinny Boyfriends and Gosling

I'd like to start this post by saying thank you so much for your support on my latest post. Your words of encouragement gave me reassurance that I am moving in the right direction. I am so grateful for each and every one of you! My first non-fashion post is still cooking ( is there a hint here?!:) ), so for now we are back to outfits!
I am usually not a big fan of light denim, but these boyfriend jeans from Target made me change my mind. They are actually called skinny boyfriend jeans, because they are not as lose at the bottom as regular boyfriends would be. That, plus 90s inspired wash and relaxed low rise fit made me absolutely fall in love with them. Styled them with a dreamy tee from ASOS and simple shopping tote.
What about you, do you prefer light or dark denim?

Triple Denim

No matter how many seasons and trends go by, one thing is a classic - DENIM! From light to dark, skinny to bootcut, short or long - you can never go wrong with denim. I picked up a perfect pair of jeans in Target and decided to experiment with denim-on-denim trend and went a little too far...or did I? :) I created a daring look by wearing three different shades of denim combined with white details . Voila - I am ready to rock'n'roll =)
