New Dessert and New Blog Design

My new favorite dessert is served at RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen - Warm Coconut Doughnuts and Organic Mint Tea. Somehow these photos remind me of this quote, that I posted on my Twitter =)
I got a lot of complaints from my readers regarding black background so I finally listened to your requests and changed it. However, I miss the glamourous black look of my blog. So this question is to my regular readers: which design do you prefer?

P.S. Thanks to all who shared their opinions. I really appreciate the conribution of each and every one of you.

  2. those donuts look so good!! & mmm I love mint tea
I personally always go for black/dark backgrounds too as it's more glamourous but white is a cleaner minimalistic look

  3. Hey babes! I love the black but I have also noticed that it really tires the eye when reading the text! Although you do not write big chunks of text so I guess it's ok to keep the black ;) xoxo ES

  7. Black is interesting, but it tires the eyes. It is easier to look at the pictures and read text on white background. Keep the white!

  11. The desert looks amazing as usual, you have a great eye for sweets :)
I liked your black background, but I also think the white one is better! It's very elegant.
When I started blogging, I had a dark grey background and I ended up changing it as well. I guess it's part of growing up - we have to change something once in a while! It will look strange to you at first, but I'm sure you'll come to love it!

  27. Yum, delicious!

I've only known your site with a black background and for me that was LA by Diana. White works too and it's nice to have a change. At the end of the day though what matters most is Your vision and the space You want to create.

  40. First, I love that the restaurant is called Rock Sugar because I happen to LOVE rock sugar and put it in my tea A LOT. Second, I have almost the exact same cast iron tea pot! Third, I prefer the black. The white is rather... stark. Is there any way you could do black & white stripes? Maybe toss in a stripe or two of Tiffany blue (or whatever accent color you love)?

  41. Nice change, but I also like the previous one!

  43. Ok, maybe I'm a little bias here because my blog has white background and I've always like the white, clean look. So I actually like your blog in white. I know black is more elegant and all but white does look so tidy and clean don't you think? =) In the end, it's all about what you really like. That matters most =)

  47. Why don't you keep the header black, like in the screenshot above, while changing the rest to white like it is now? Or everything black, except for the posts title and body? Just a thought :-) xoxoxo

  48. I did noticed you change your header of the website...I think it's really clean cut:).....hope all is well and I love mint tea..esp the mint tea from morocco:)

  51. I think you should stick to the black if you love it.
I have two other friends that are bloggers too and they both have black backgrounds.
With a little tweaking, you can probably fix the fonts so they are easier to read but definitely stay true to what you love.
    XOXO

  52. Maybe you should put it in grey, that way everyone is happy!! haha
I did like it more in black, maybe you should try with text in bold so it's easier for us to read.
I never eat that tipe of Asian food, maybe I'll try it now.
